"Love and Religion" May 2018 - Philadelphia

Being part of an interfaith couple can be challenging, but you don’t need to find the answers alone. This workshop offers a safe environment to work on creating your religious lives together.  It is intended for seriously dating, engaged and newly married interfaith couples to talk about how to have religious traditions in their lives together.

InterfaithFamily/Philadelphia is pleased to offer "Love and Religion", a four-session workshop based on Love and Religion: An Interfaith Workshop for Jews and Their Partners, created by Marion L. Usher, Ph.D.

"Love and Religion" – meets 3 Wednesday evenings, May 23 and 30 and June 6, from 7:00 - 8:30 pm. The workshop will be facilitated by Rabbi Robyn Frisch, Director of InterfaithFamily/Philadelphia. We will meet at Good Karma Cafe at 928 Pine Street in Philadelphia. The cost of the workshop is $36/couple.

Couples should participate if they are seriously dating, engaged or newly married, exploring the issue of religion in their relationship, and:

  • want to have a religious life and are unclear how to discuss this issue with each other
  • want to be with other couples who are struggling with the same issues
  • want to explore questions about religious life together, including: How can we honor both of our religious heritages?  Can we raise our children in one religion while exposing them to the other one? What if we want to raise our children with two religions? How will we celebrate holidays and lifecycle events? Where can we find Jewish clergy to marry us? Can our children be Jewish if one of us is not? How can we talk to parents and other relatives about issues related to out interfaith relationship?

Please contact InterfaithFamily/Philadelphia Director, Robyn Frisch, at robynf@interfaithfamily.com if you have any questions.
